This position will report to the Head Cook or Director of Food Services daily for instructions on where/when to report to work.  This person will be required to travel to any of the eight buildings in the district as requested by the Head Cook or Director of Food Service. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalency. 
  1. Demonstrates aptitude for successful performance of the responsibilities listed below. 
  1. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate or acceptable.

 

REPORTS TO:    Head Cook and Director of Food Service

 

JOB GOAL:         To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  1. Assists in the preparation of food portions and prepares cafeteria counter. 
  1. Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter, rapidly and efficiently. 
  1. Performs dishwashing responsibilities rapidly and efficiently. 
  1. Cashiers rapidly and efficiently during lunch periods. 
  1. Collects lunch money from adults. 
  1. Replenishes milk cooler, napkin and straw containers, and any other supplies as needed. 
  1. Prepares bank deposit and collects computerized sales reports. 
  1. Monitors free and reduced lunch students for discrepancies. 
  1. Works with a computer generated list of students who have charged meals or milk and send notes to parents concerning these charges. Confers with principal on long overdue charges. 
  1. All appropriate paper work completed and presented to the supervisor on a daily basis. 
  1. Report time worked for food service employees on a needed basis. 
  1. Prepares food for proper storage and return food to central kitchens at the end of the work day. 
  1. Prepares monthly inventory from satellite schools to be given to their head cook. 
  1. Follows food safety and cleanliness standards and monitors each other as well as themselves. 
  1. Performs other reasonable duties as are assigned by the head cook or Director of Food Service for the general well being of the student. 

 

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. Removes used dishes and assists in the cleaning of counters, tables and furnishings in the dining area. 
  1. Maintains the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion. 
  1. Cleans the cafeteria tables following the dismissal of each group of lunch students. 
  1. Follows the dress code for kitchen staff. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  1. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. 
  1. Kneel, reach and bend frequently. 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:       Salary and benefits to be determined in accordance with the negotiated agreement between Crawford Central Board of School Directors and Crawford Central Educational Support Professional Association.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of non-professional personnel by the Director of Food Service and Coordinator of Food Service.
